Hot off the catwalk: Moschino models blaze a trail down the runway in scorched dresses that are still SMOKING at Milan Fashion Week
- Jeremy Scott presented a fiery AW16 collection featuring models wearing scorched dressed that emitted smoke
- Matchsticks also took centre stage as a signature print across the collection presented this evening
- The famous Moschino phone case took on the form of a cigarette packet with the slogan 'fashion kills'
The aim in the fashion industry is to produce the hottest designs of the season and for Moschino that was taken quite literally as models were sent down the runway in scorched dresses.
Moschino's head designer Jeremy Scott is a stickler for a theme and that was clear from the outset of his AW16 collection as guests descended on what appeared to be a house fire.
The set for his runway collection was made up of ashen bars and blackened pianos as eager famous faces such as Charli XCX made themselves comfortable in ageing silk chairs.

Unlike your average runway, models marched to the beat of their own drum as they twirled down the runway in what can only be described as pure theatre.
One model posed in the frame of a mirror in a ravaged gown that was still smoking as she appeared to leap at the heat of her own dress. The outfit was easily the designer's showstopper, flaunting an asymmetrical hem and blackened scorch marks, and was paired with long black gloves.
In another wow moment a model appeared on the runway encased inside a giant crystal chandelier.
Scott combined old with new mixing up the singed ball gowns with his famous graphic prints. The invitation to this season's show may have given guests a clue as they were sent a book of matches alongside their burnt invite.

Match stick icons embellished many of the signature pieces including a match box clutch and a mini skirt printed with fire starters. Smoking also took an ironic turn as Scott introduced his own brand of cigarette packaging with box clutches and sweaters printed with the design - alongside the tongue-in-cheek warning 'fashion kills'.
The cigarette theme stretched to Moschino's latest iPhone case, which have proved a popular choice among celebrities like Amber Rose and Katy Perry. This season the rubber case mimicked a cigarette packet complete with plastic smokes, that was given out to guests in their goodie bags.
Adding to the adult theme other clutch bags took on the form of a beer can, while one model kept her waist cinched with a pair of handcuffs. The message was clear: keep out of reach of children.
